Thursday March 27th

As details of the 2015 cruise season continue to be released (more on that later), there continue to be announcements on some of the new ships coming - in this case Royal Caribbean's plans for dining on Anthem and Quantum of the Seas.

The introduction of 'Dynamic Dining' includes the choice of 18 restaurants on-board including one from our very own home-grown Jamie Oliver.  You can read more here.

Over in the ultra-luxury and expedition sector it was exciting to see the brand new ship launch for Silversea - with Silver Discoverer launching in Singapore.

And, talking of new ships, how great for the River Cruise sector to see a double launch at the weekend of two Avalon ships, Avalon Poetry II and Avalon Impression.  Read more here.

And just to finish the announcement of new cruise ships - news from MSC Cruises this week of two new ships being built for delivery in 2017 and 2019: read more here.

Meanwhile news from the mighty Carnival Corp is of a 'solid' wave period with booking levels up 20% globally and booking volumes since January and for the remainder of the year running well ahead of last year - read more here.

So back to talk of 2015 itineraries with the news that Thomson Cruises will be home-porting their ship Thomson celebration from Croatia: read here.

And with all of these goings on, the UK & Ireland cruise markets celebrate yet another record breaking year in figures released just this week - read more here

This week was also the week that the great and the good of the media were recognised for all that they do in helping to grow the cruise sector with a glittering ceremony in London at the 2014 Cruise Journalism Awards.  Congratulations to all nominated, short-listed and the winners!  here is just a snippet of coverage from those awfully nice people at the Telegraph: read here.

Finally - a big Amsterdam wave to all of those travel agents who joined AMA Waterways and APT for a two day extravaganza on-board Ama Prima!  Thank you for inviting CLIA to enjoy with you - here are a selection of images from the event!  See the pics here.

Until next week.
